STORAGE/DISPOSAL > Overview

The Environmental Regulatory Agency (EA, SEPA etc) in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will regulate the control of harmful substances, generally those that are considered toxic, oxidising, explosive or flammable under a number of differing regulations depending on types and quanitities:

  • Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) Regulations 1999
  • Control Of Substances Hazardous To Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002
  • Radioactive Sources - Radioactive Substances Act (RSA) 1993

If you operate a campus hazardous waste storage facility, then continue on with this EVC and learn more about these regulations and there implications.
