AIR
> Overview
A typical power plant has several activities that affect air quality
and that are regulated by regulations. The primary activity is operating
fossil-fuel fired boilers. Other activities include operating turbines,
emergency generators, diesel storage tanks - as well as air pollution
control equipment. Air quality is regulated the under the Clean
Air Act/IPPC and other legislation.
While the air pollution control requirements are rather complex,
you can consider that for a power plant’s boilers, they fall
under the following select categories:
- Meeting air emissions standards
- Permitting for air emissions sources
Continue on through this EVC section to learn more about air pollution control
requirements associated with operating boilers at a campus power plant.
