AIR > Overview

Perhaps your campus power plant has an air operating permit that identifies operating conditions, including established emissions limits for air pollutants, record keeping and reporting requirements, and requirements that need to be met for demonstrating compliance with emissions limits. One method that the Environment Agency (EA) can require facilities to use to demonstrate compliance is by conducting air monitoring for pollutants. Broadly speaking, there are a few EA programmes that have air emission monitoring components included; they are:

  • Clean Air Act
  • Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) - for operaters of CHP schemes

Continue on through this EVC section to learn more about air pollution control requirements.
