Spill prevention is part of better management of liquid product use, storage and disposal. Oil and other similar wastes can be a significant pollutant, which is toxic to both plants and animals. In 2002, over 14 oil pollution incidents occurred every day in England and Wales due to poor handling or storage of oil. During the same year oil pollution incidents accounted for 13 per cent of the most serious incidents (category 1 and 2)
