STORAGE/DISPOSAL > Details

All facilities that accumulate certain wastes, including batteries and mercury containing devices or lamps (e.g., fluorescent light bulbs) are subject to the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005. Under these regulations, fluorescent tubes and other mecury containing items are defined as hazardous waste, regardless of whether they are from a domestic dwelling. They should be disposed of according to the regulations.
