All facilities that accumulate certain wastes, including batteries
and mercury containing devices or lamps (e.g., fluorescent light
bulbs) are subject to the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005. Under
these regulations, fluorescent tubes and other mecury containing
items are defined as hazardous waste, regardless of whether they
are from a domestic dwelling. They should be disposed of according
to the regulations.
