EP (PCB) Regs > Overview
You may have heard the acronym PCBs in reference to transformers, power plants
or electrical capacitors. Although polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
are not typically considered an environmental hazard in most residential
settings, they do exist in some older fluorescent light ballasts and
fixtures. PCBs are regulated under The Hazardous Waste 2005 Regulations
and under the Environmental Protection (Disposal of Polychlorinated
Biphenyls and other Dangerous Substances) (England and Wales) Regulations
2000.
Proceed through this section of the EVC to learn about the Hazardous
Waste/PCB regulations that have been established to protect you.
