AGREEMENT BY USER TO DISCLAIMER
This web site is adapted, with kind permission, from an original developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and hosted
by the Campus Consortium for Environmental Excellence (C2E2)at www.c2e2.org/evc/home.html. The material
has been slightly adapted by HEEPI to reflect UK environmental regulations and conditions. HEEPI is therefore responsible
for the adapted content of this site but has no claim on the intellectual
property rights, which reside with MIT.
The information in this Environmental Virtual Campus ("EVC")
is intended to provide an overview of some common environmental
regulatory issues facing many colleges and universities. The EVC
necessarily discusses these issues in general terms, because environmental
regulatory requirements vary from country to country, and state
to state within them. The regulatory content is not, nor is it intended
to be, exhaustive; the focus is only on environmental laws and regulations,
and then only on certain generally applicable laws and regulations.
Also, although the materials contain a great deal of detailed information,
the text does not include every requirement of the featured laws
and regulations. All regulated entities are responsible for determining
what laws and regulations apply to their operations and facilities
and what such regulations require.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,
CDM, INC, MYRIAD, INC, AND THE CAMPUS CONSORTIUM FOR ENVIRONMENTAL
EXCELLENCE (C2E2) (TOGETHER, "AUTHORS AND HOSTS") MAKE
NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AND ASSUME NO
RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY OF ANY KIND FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT
RELIANCE ON THE INFORMATION INCLUDED OR OMITTED FROM THE EVC. THE
SAME IS TRUE FOR ANY AMENDMENTS TO THE ORIGINAL MADE BY HEEPI.
IT IS A CONDITION TO USE OF THE EVC THAT THE USER ACKNOWLEDGE AND
AGREE TO THE ABSENCE OF RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY BY THE AUTHORS
AND HOSTS, AND USE OF THE EVC CONSTITUTES SUCH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND
AGREEMENT BY THE USERS.
