The Transport Co-ordinator's Responsibilities at the University of Hertfordshire

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the development and implementation of the Travel Plan's action programme
  • Obtaining commitment and support all parties
  • Design and implement effective promotional and awareness campaigns.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the effectiveness of the Transport Working Group.
  • Data collection, monitoring and measurement of travel habits and attitudes to assess the achievement of targets set as well as identifying new ones.
  • Act as a point of contact or provide a ‘one stop shop' for staff, students and visitors requiring travel information.
  • Work closely with different departments such as Personnel, Estates, External Relations and University bus .
  • Work with other departments such as Estates and external consultants to ensure travel issues are integrated into development plans for new build.
  • Recommend improvements for business travel to reduce economic and environmental costs
  • Recommend a car parking strategy that is self-funding with the possibility of resources ring fenced to provide alternative transport provision.
